Three of your instruments rely on a spinning wheel, and one relies on the Earth's magnetic field. The gyros give steady, lag-free attitude and direction; the compass is the only instrument that knows which way is north on its own, but it lies whenever you accelerate or turn. Knowing the strengths and failures of each is what lets you trust the right instrument at the right moment.
